Synthesis of FTO-thin film by sol-gel spin-coating technique as a TCO and studying temperature effects on its conductivity and transparency

- Thin film of fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) as a transparent conducting oxide (TCO) has been coated on a glass substrate by sol-gel spin-coating technique. The prepared samples have been annealed in 375, 400, 425 and 450 0C temperatures. Conductivity and transparency of the samples have been studied and the best results are seen in annealing temperature of 400 0C by a sheet resistance of 13kΩ/☐and transmittance of 81% in the 400-800nm wave-length region. The grain size and thickness for the best results are respectively between 20-50nm and 400nm.
