Abstract: Folic acid is a species of natural organic acid polymers extracted from soil humus, which is composed of amino acids, phenolic rings, sugars and vitamins, and has high antioxidant and antibacterial properties. In this paper, after validation of the existing folic acid by FTIR test, four concentrations of it were made with water solvent and by linear absorption and scanning optical arrangements, the values of linear absorption coefficient were measured and the nonlinear refractive index was obtained from the order of 10^(-9) 〖cm〗^2⁄(w ). It was found that with increasing concentration, the coefficients of linear absorption and nonlinear refraction increase.
