Abstract:   (1257 Views)

In this experiment samples of Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria in two species of methicillin resistant and sensitive were cultured in standard method then they were fixed on glass lamellae without staining process. Optical absorbance of bacteria in linear regime with wavelength 532nm was measured using continuous-wave laser. Meanwhile non-linear behaviors of bacteria with laser intensity 106  were investigated. The results showed that there was not such a great difference between linear absorbance of two species of bacteria but the non-linear refractive index of those bacteria which were methicillin resistant were absolutely different from those species who were sensitive to methicillin. Resistant bacteria had negative refractive index and sensitive bacteria had positive refractive index which all were in orders of 10-5
