Generating of structured elliptical optical beams using spiral linear zone plate

Herein a novel diffractive element is introduced which is generated by a given combination of two phase shifted spiral linear zone plates. This element was studied and simulated under different topological charges.  It is shown that an elliptical annular beam is generated at the focal plane. Moreover, a dark elliptical annular beam is also generated under another topological charge. Simulation results are verified by experiments.
