The properties of terahertz waves in one-dimensional photonic crystals containing graphene and metamaterial

In this paper, the absorption spectrum is investigated for photonic crystals containing graphene in the presence of the metamaterial. Since the presence of the graphene in the photonic crystals can be increased the absorption in the terahertz region, in this research, is calculated by using the transfer matrix method and the presence of the metamaterial together with graphene in photonic crystals, the absorption coefficient in the presence of metamaterial with different thicknesses. Results show that by increasing the thickness of the metamaterial, the absorption coefficient increases in comparison to the absence of metamaterial and this improves detection of the terahertz region.
