Abstract: (18551 Views)
In this work, RGP contact lenses with 9.6 mm diameter were exposed by 193 nm ArF excimer laser, at 1 Hz pulse repetition rate with 75 mJ/pulse energy about 1.9 J/cm2 . Characterization and analysis techniques was performed via Contact Angle Measurement in order to determine surface wettability, Atomic force microscopy (AFM) with roughness analysis, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR). According to the results, the laser irradiation without changing the chemical bonds has modified lens surface properties and increased the surface hydrophilicity.
