ٌWe express the problem of propagation and interaction of optical radiation in dielectric waveguide with the help of coupled modes. also with the help of perturbation theories, we examine coupling coefficients for thin film waveguide with alternating refractive index waveguide’s film, with the cover layer being of metamaterial. we show that coupling of the fundamental mode cann't be exist for this structure. Also we examine the effect of changes in coefficients of the electrical conductivity and magnetic permeability of the film and substrate on the coupling coefficient of this structure.
