This paper reports a longitudinally pumped Nd:YVO4 laser. An a-cut Nd:YVO4 crystal is the active media at this laser, that is pumped by a fiber coupled diode laser at 808nm wavelength. The effect of thermal lensing at high power pumping is considered in resonator designing. By 14.7W input power, the 5W output power and TEM00 profile at 1064nm wavelength is achieved. The efficiency of this setup is about 36%.
