Abstract: (1018 Views)
In this paper, a coupled waveguide and micro-disk resonator structure is proposed to achieve optical Bistability using graphene nonlinearity conduction. The simulation results from all-numerical method and coupled mode theory has shown that by adjusting the micro-disk radius, Optical Bistability can be achieved with a very small threshold power of 0.79mW or very short rise and fall time of 1.24ps and 1.53ps. Compared to previous works, the proposed structure features a faster response time, smaller dimensions and ease of fabrication, while its threshold power is much lower than previous works.
