Abstract: (3086 Views)
In this paper, Surface Plasmon Resonance is used to measure crude oil properties in tanks and pipelines. A fiber optic surface plasmon resonance sensor is proposed and simulated based on a 5 layer structure consisting of Optical Fiber/ Chromium/silver/ Cobalt/Ta2O5 . considering 4 different crude oil with the refractive index of 1.44-1.56, the proposed sensor is characterized. Optimum thicknesses for different layers are obtained by investigation of the FWHM of transmitted spectra.
