In this research, the design of a pulse Nd:YAG laser based on the slab geometry has been demonstrated. At first, we have compared the cylinder geometry with slab geometry and modified the Frantz–Nodvik and Eggleston–Frantz equations to derive equations for laser beam amplification with a laser medium. Output energy equation versus fill factor and input energy has been investigated and simulated. Influence parameters on the amplification process such as fill factor, cross section and input beam diameter were investigated. The Matlab and Zemax softwares were used for calculations and simulations of the ray tracing in the slab geometry.
