Abstract: (3661 Views)
In this paper, we propose a microring (MR) resonator, based on Bragg reflection waveguides (BRWs) for enhanced second harmonic generation (SHG) and numerically simulate it using finite element method (FEM). Our proposed structure uses strong modal dispersion properties of BRW for phase matching in SHG process, and uses the resonance of MR to enhance nonlinear optical processes. We designed our MR resonator for three different radii. According to the results, SHG is achievable for different MR radii with the same layers only by tuning the width of the waveguide.
