Band Structure Engineering in 2D Photonic Crystal Waveguides Composed of Elliptic Cross Section Elements

In this paper, we examine the impact of changing of elongation and filling factor on band structure of two dimensional photonic crystal waveguide with square lattice consisting of gallium arsenide dielectric cylinders with elliptical cross-section in Air background. According to the results, with constant filling factor and changing of elongation of the elements, the width of the band gap has changed and is any change in the magnitude of guiding frequency. However, with constant elongation and increasing of filling factor of elements, the width of the band gap and magnitude of guiding frequencies has decreased.
