Precise measurement of blood components such as glucoses, triglyceride, calcium and etc. is known as an important step for medical diagnostics. Currently, colorimetric methods are used to achieve this goal at blood laboratories with some limitations for high concentration blood components. Nonlinear optical properties of blood serum containing these components lead to estimate the concentration of components. In this paper, it is shown that using z-scan technique is a promising method for measuring glucose and triglyceride by studying nonlinear refractive index of blood serum.
