Transformer oil is one of the most important parts of transformers in the power industry, which is responsible for insulating the transformer Coils and cooling the transformer temperature through heat conduction. Of course, for this oil to function properly, its quality needs to be regularly monitored by measuring its physical properties such as refractive index. One of the control methods in this field is the use of optical sensors. In this paper, an optical sensor based on a photonic crystal fiber is designed that can determine the oil temperature in the range of 25 to 50 °C based on changes in the oil refractive index. Our results also show that in the structure consisting of gold, titanium and graphene monolayer the most relative sensitivity of the proposed sensor is 6095 nm/RIU.
