Gastric cancer is a cancer with a high mortality rate, because there is no proper screening method for it. Therefore, a quick and non-invasive method for screening gastric cancer is very necessary. Raman spectroscopy is an appropriate method for examining biological samples, since it is non-invasive method and requires a small amount of sample. In this study, using Raman spectroscopy, a distinction was made between serum samples of people with gastric cancer and healthy subjects Therefore, six serum samples were collected from people with gastric cancer and nineteen healthy subjects. The partial least squares discriminant analysis has been used for the distinction between the samples. The initial results indicate that 95% of patients were correctly diagnosed. The result shows that Raman spectroscopy has a good potential for differentiation between healthy individuals and patients with gastric cancer.
